Bristol Little League Baseball Programs

All Ages for our baseball programs are based on the Little League Baseball age requirements. Click here to open the Little League age calculator.

Tee Ball (Ages 4 - 6)
·    Division designed for brand new players.
·    Serves as an introduction to basic baseball concepts with an emphasis on teamwork.
·    Combination of coach pitch and hitting off a tee.
·    All players bat and play the field each inning.
·    Game scores and standings are not kept.
·    Scheduling in general will be: 1 practice & 1 game per week (game usually on weekends).
·    Pl
ayers will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players have the option to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, or can use the league provided equipment.

Minors (A & AA) (Ages 5-9)
·     Division for older Tee Ball players and those that have previous Tee Ball experience.
·     Typically, coach pitch.
·     All players bat and play the field each inning.
·     Game scores and standings are not kept.
·     Outs are played (i.e. player removed from base if out), but players still bat through the order.
·     Scheduling in general will be: 1 Practice & 2 games per week (1 game during the week and 1 on the weekend)
·     Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players have the option to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, or can use the league provided equipment.

AAA (Ages 8-11)
·       The focus remains on education, development and teamwork, while encouraging a deeper understanding of the game and advancing skill development in order to prepare players for successful participation at the Majors level.
·    Little League International rules control play with some local rules interjected as allowed.
·    Games are officiated by Little League umpires.
·    Minimum play time per player per game at least 9 defensive outs, 1 "at bat”.
·    Continuous batting order may be employed.
·    Players participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are drafted by managers (Request for friends to be on the same team, or to be with a specific coach are not permitted.
·    Games will be played with Bristol Little League teams at any of the three facilities.
·    Scheduling in general will be: 2 practices and 2 games per week (games can be held any day of the week).
·    Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players at this level are encouraged to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, however the league can also provide equipment when requested..

Majors (Ages 9-12)
·    This division promotes competition to a higher degree as compared to the Minor League. Within this more competitive environment, the emphasis remains on improving baseball skills, building individual self-esteem, promoting team camaraderie and emphasizing fair play. The division is designed to prepare players for higher levels of play including advancement in Little League Tournament play and readiness to move up to play on the full 90-foot “big diamond”.
·    Little League International rules control play with some local rules interjected as allowed.
·    Games are officiated by Little League umpires.
·    Minimum play time per player per game at least 6 defensive outs, 1 "at bat”.
·    Players participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are drafted by managers (Request for friends to be on the same team, or to be with a specific coach are not permitted). Players that are not drafted into the Majors level would be placed on a AAA team.
·    Games will be played with Bristol Little League teams at any of the three facilities, and Plainville.
·    Scheduling in general will be: 2 practices and 2 games per week (games can be held any day of the week).
·    Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players at this level are encouraged to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, however the league can also provide equipment when requested.

50/70 (Ages 11-13)
·    The Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division for players league-age 11-13 offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/ field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance and 90-foot base paths).Many of the Junior League rules will be used such as runners being permitted to lead off bases and runners may attempt to steal at any time.
·    This is primarily a travel team. Teams will travel to play teams from other towns within and outside of our District.  
·    Players are allowed to play on dual rosters during the regular season (11/12-year olds can play Majors and 50/70. 13-year olds can play Juniors or 50/70. 
·    Players participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are drafted by managers (Request for friends to be on the same team, or to be with a specific coach are not permitted). 
·    Scheduling in general will be:  2 practices and 2 games per week. Games are primarily on weekends. They can be doubleheaders on those weekends (one or both days) and can also be held any day of the week.
·    Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players at this level are encouraged to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, however the league can also provide equipment when requested.

Juniors (Ages 13-14)
·    The Junior League Baseball Division is played on a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
·    Rules are similar to Major League Baseball.
·    This is primarily a travel team. Teams will primarily travel to play teams from other towns within and outside of our District.  
·    Players participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are drafted by managers (Request for friends to be on the same team, or to be with a specific coach are not permitted)
.    Scheduling in general will be: 2 practices and 2 games per week. Games are primarily played on weekends but can held any day of the week.
·    Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players at this level are encouraged to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, however the league can also provide equipment when requested.

Seniors (Ages 15-16)
·    The Senior League Baseball Division is played on a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
·    Regular season begins after high school season ends.
·    Rules are similar to Major League Baseball.
·    This is primarily a travel team. Teams will primarily travel to play teams from other towns within and outside of our District.  
·    Players participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are drafted by managers (Request for friends to be on the same team, or to be with a specific coach are not permitted).
·    Scheduling in general will be: 2 practices and 2 games per week. Games can be doubleheaders on weekends (one or both days) and can be held any day of the week.
·    Players will need their own baseball glove, pants, belt, socks, cleats, and protective cup. Players will be provided a uniform shirt, and hat. Players at this level are encouraged to purchase their own baseball bat and hamlet, however the league can also provide equipment when requested.

Challenger Division (Spring Division only)
·   The Little League Challenger Division was founded in 1989, and is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate.
·   The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players with Special Needs in Bristol & bordering towns ages 4 to 18; or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.
